- Navigate to the document tree, click the Plus (+) icon next to any parent node, and select New Component Page.
- When the diagram selector menu appears, navigate to Mind Maps and select Concept Map.
- In the canvas editor, manually build your map by creating concept nodes and defining linking phrases, or select Create with AI in the toolbar to generate an initial draft automatically. Note: Generating an AI draft will replace any pre-existing content on the active canvas.
- Refine the map layout by reorganizing concepts, adjusting linking phrases, editing text labels, and expanding relationship branches.
- Click Save and select the back arrow icon to return to your documentation workspace.
Embedding Existing Concept Maps into Document Pages
Once saved, your reusable Concept Map component can be placed anywhere across your documentation:
- Open your target page inside the OpenDocs Editor.
- Click Insert in the top menu bar.
- Hover over Mind Maps and select Import Existing.
- Pick your created Concept Map component from the list to embed it directly onto the page.
Building Ad-Hoc Concept Maps Directly on a Page
If you only need a Concept Map for a single page and do not require global reuse, build it directly in place:
- While editing the page, click Insert in the top toolbar.
- Navigate to Mind Maps and choose Concept Map to launch the editor canvas.

- Click Save and close the canvas editor. The Concept Map will appear immediately on your page.
